April is National Occupational Therapy Month
Occupational therapy is a form of therapy for those recuperating from physical or mental illness that encourages rehabilitation through the performance of activities required in daily life. According to the American Occupational Therapy Association, common occupational therapy interventions include helping people recovering from injury to regain skills and providing supports for older adults experiencing physical and cognitive changes (AOTA, 2017).
At Orland Park Health and Fitness Center, it is important that we help our members and those in our community who may have a medical condition or need extra support to be more active and/or transition safely to daily activities and routines. This is why we offer fitness programs, personal training options and a variety of group exercises classes that target your specific needs.
We also offer a FREE fitness assessment to all members to discover your fitness level and begin a customized plan to achieve your fitness goals. Our degreed and certified fitness specialists will then follow up with you in six months to track your progress and adjust your fitness plan as you grow stronger and reach your goals.
